As a private Catholic school, ISK Tirol is committed to the Christian humanistic worldview and has a strong cooperation partner in the Archdiocese of Salzburg with a long-standing educational tradition.
At the invitation of the Archdiocese, the entire school team spent a day of exchange and getting to know each other more intensively in the city of Salzburg at the end of May 2023.
The program got off to an impressive start with a guided tour of the cathedral by KR Dr. Raimund Sagmeister, rector of the "Schulamt", followed by a musical performance by cathedral organist Judith Trifellner-Spalt. ISK music teacher George Humphrey, a trained opera singer, took the opportunity to perform an impressive vocal piece accompanied by the organ.
In the Archbishop's Palace there was a meet & greet with KR Mag. Roland Rasser, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Salzburg. Afterwards, the director of the Schulamt, DDr. Erwin Konjecic and the person responsible for the Catholic private schools, Mag. Christa Rohrer-Fuchsberger, presented their diverse tasks, exchanged views with our delegation and invited the teachers to various professional development activities. Furthermore, a sponsorship for socially eligible ISK students could be agreed upon through the School Pastoral Fund of the Archdiocese of Salzburg.
During a guided tour in English through the Diocesan Archives, Director Dr. Thomas Mitterecker showed the "treasures" of the archives of the Archdiocese. The cultural heritage of the Catholic Church is administered there, and the impressions were correspondingly impressive.
A meal together rounded off the day.
The participants from Kufstein were thoroughly enthusiastic about the personal insights and the interesting exchange. All participants agreed that - especially after the difficult Corona years - a direct exchange is very beneficial and should be continued regularly.
Many thanks to all participants, but especially to Erwin Konjecic and Christa Rohrer-Fuchsberger, for the excellent organization.
