On 6 and 7 March 2025, the Kufstein English Theatre presented the play ‘Falling Out’ in the Kultur Quartier Kufstein. Under the direction of Klaus Reitberger, nine pupils from grade 12 put this English-language play on stage with German surtitles.
‘Falling Out’ thematises conflicts between different characters - two sisters, a pair of lovers, two friends and a mother and her daughter. On the same day in the same city, they get into arguments about topics such as different life plans, capitalism versus self-realisation, abortion, astrology and alternative medicine, sexual orientation and traditional values. The conflicts lead to a breakdown in communication and a painful silence in their relationships. The play poses the question of whether they will be able to break the silence and start talking to each other again.
The performances met with an extremely positive response from the audience, who applauded the performance of the young actors and actresses as well as the play's examination of current social issues.
