Support for motivated young people who have distinguished themselves through special performance in their school career

ISK Tirol awarded achievement-based scholarships

Since its founding in 2015, International School Kufstein Tirol has granted a reduction in tuition fees based on the financial situation (social scholarship). Additionally, it has become a well-established tradition to support particularly gifted and committed students of the upper school with achievement-based scholarships.

This year, the awarding committee found it especially difficult to make a selection due to the numerous outstanding applications. Ultimately, the decision was made to award scholarships to six young people who best met the criteria. Each scholarship, worth a one-time payment of 1,200 euros, was awarded to the following students (in alphabetical order):

  • Loris Husic
  • Moritz Kogler
  • Johanna Pirolt
  • Katharina Schöning
  • Diana Strickner
  • Kay Strohmeyer

All candidates demonstrated excellent academic achievements. Additionally, the scholarship recipients impressed with their outstanding extracurricular performances.

Examples:

Loris Husic has been a player for the traditional football club 1860 Munich since 2016 and has led his team as captain since the beginning. He won the German U15 Futsal Championship. Since early 2023, Loris has been a permanent member of the Austrian U16 national team and scored the goal of the year for all youth national teams in 2023.

Moritz Kogler and Diana Strickner are very successful members of the dance group "Love to Dance" (Austrian champions, European champions). Among other achievements, they qualified for the World Dance Masters in Croatia for the first time, where they achieved the vice world champion title in their category.

Kay Strohmeyer was called up to the German national water ski team in 2020. Since then, he has competed in numerous national and international events in Germany, Austria, Slovakia, the Netherlands, and Spain. He has won numerous German championships as well as several European titles and holds the European record in water ski slalom for the under-15 age group.

On July 1, the school community congratulated the winners at an award ceremony in the main hall, which was musically accompanied by the school choir under the direction of George Humphrey.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our partners KufGem Kufstein, SPAR AG, Sparkasse Kufstein, and Stadtwerke Kufstein, each of whom presented a scholarship.
